Historically, it is said that in the imperial court and shogunate households, Ushasama Myōō was enshrined near birthing rooms, where sacred fire rituals were performed to ensure that no malevolent spirits could approach newborn babies. In temples, this deity is worshiped as a guardian against the defilement of toilets.

Additionally, cleaning toilets is believed to possess mysterious powers, and many of Japan's historical figures were known for their strong commitment to this practice.

"On Kurodanō Unjaku"
The mantra concludes with "Muma Jōman", a phrase frequently used in spiritual practices to signify overcoming all obstacles and completing one's path without succumbing to evil influences.
