"Tera Nomi" – A Sake Event at Butsugen-ji in Kyoto
"Tera Nomi" is a Japanese sake event held at Butsugen-ji Temple in Kyoto. This gathering was initiated by Vice Chief Priest Kazutaka Aburanokoji and his childhood friend Mr. Watanabe as part of the "Tomarigi Project", which aims to open the temple to the local community and provide a welcoming space for people to gather casually.

At the event, guests can enjoy a tasting experience featuring around 15 varieties of freshly brewed sake sourced from across Japan. In addition to sake, craft beer and soft drinks are also available, creating an inclusive atmosphere where families can comfortably participate. The event also includes Buddhist chanting and Dharma talks, offering attendees an opportunity to engage with Buddhist teachings.

This initiative seeks to transform the temple into a hub for community interaction, promoting Buddhism, temple culture, and the appreciation of Japanese sake. Through "Tera Nomi", new connections are fostered, and the local community is revitalized.
