Keimei-in Temple (A Sub-Temple of Myoken-ji, the Grand Head Temple)
This is a calligraphy piece created by the chief priest of Nichiren Shu Keimei-in, based on a mandala of the Nichiren sect.

The central inscription, Namu Myoho Renge Kyo, is commonly referred to as Hige Daimoku (Bearded Daimoku). However, in reality, the marks resembling beards are not actual beards but are called Komyo-ten (Radiant Points), representing the light of the Buddha. The depiction of the Four Heavenly Kings in each direction signifies that the light of the Buddha’s teachings spreads throughout the entire world. It also conveys that anyone who receives this light, regardless of who they are, resides within the realm of the Buddha.

Although not included in this particular design, traditional mandalas also depict figures such as Devadatta, who is said to have fallen into hell; the Asura King, who dwells in a realm of anger; and the Sixth Heaven Mara King, who obstructs Buddhist practice. This illustrates that all beings, upon receiving the Buddha's teachings, are saved from suffering and ultimately attain Buddhahood.
