“Ichinyo” (Oneness) represents the state of true enlightenment. “Ichi” means the absolute One that cannot be divided, while “Nyo” signifies reality as it is, beyond thought and conceptualization.
The apparent dualities we experience — such as self and other, life and death, love and hate — are illusions created by our self-centered delusions. To break through these illusions and directly perceive the truth is to awaken. At that moment, the knower and the known merge, transcending life and death, love and hate, and all things shine as equally precious existences.
This awakened state is called “Ichinyo” or “Shinnyo” (Suchness), and one who realizes it is a Buddha.
