梵字で綴られた「プラジュニャーパーラミター(Prajñāpāramitā)」は、漢訳で般若波羅蜜多(はんにゃはらみた)と呼ばれる、智慧の完成を意味する神聖な言葉です。智慧によって迷いの此岸から悟りの彼岸へ至ることを示し、般若心経をはじめとする般若経典の中心となる教えです。あらゆる執着を離れ、物事の本質を見通す智慧の象徴として、古くから多くの人々に親しまれてきました。

This T-shirt is designed based on Siddham script written by a high-ranking Japanese Buddhist monk.

The Siddham characters spell “Prajñāpāramitā,” known in Japanese as Hannya Haramita, a sacred word meaning the “Perfection of Wisdom.” It describes crossing from the shore of delusion to the far shore of enlightenment through wisdom, and is the central teaching of the Prajñāpāramitā sutras, including the Heart Sutra. It has long been cherished as a symbol of the wisdom that sees through attachment to perceive the true nature of all things.
